Default Blitzsafe AUDI/AUX DMX V.1B questions...

hello all.

i was looking at buying one of the above for my 2001.5 s4 w/bose symphony radio.

the goal was to be able to connect my ipod to the car stereo and avoid using my itrip adapter. the itrip works pretty well, but makes a low, but very annoying whine in my car.

i also have an audi oem cd changer in the trunk.

i have a couple of questions to anyone who is using one of those adapters. firstly, how do i "select" the ipod once the blitzsafe is connected?

second, can i continue to use my oem cd changer?

also, i thought i read a post that by pressing the cdc button once, you get the changer, and by pressing it again, you get the blitzsafe, but i can't find the post...

i tried sending an e-mail to blitzsafe tech support, but the mailbox was full... that's not usually a good sign...

thanks again!

Default Re: Blitzsafe AUDI/AUX DMX V.1B questions...

I just installed the Blitzsafe adaptor for my XM Commander receiver. It does work just as you described: push "CD" once, the CD in the radio plays; push "CD" a second time, and it switches to XM Radio (in your case, the iPod).
IMO a great source is www.xmfan.com - they're much more helpful than Blitzsafe in helping to answer any questions you might have.

Default thanks for the info, dc. but...

does your stereo have the cd player in the head unit, and the cd changer?

i have both a cd button as well as a cdc button on the head unit.

i want to make sure that all of my original equipment will still function properly.

i'll go check that site out now. thanks for the post!

With the BlitzSafe adapter, you will loose the CD changer. The Blitz plugs into the changer cable

Default thanks, jeff... soundgate experience?

thanks to dc, i went over to the xm board, and did some reading.

some people over there are using some soundgate products to accomplish what i'm looking for.

basically, you install some kind of "intercept" similar to the blitzsafe. however, with the soundgate, you can have several inputs, and there is a switch that you install into the car to switch between them.

anyone have any experience with this product?

oh, and jeff, big love if you might be interested in sending me a copy of that pic in your sig, reading S4 instead of TT

Default Yea, in fact, I build something similar to that...

I sell it in the 'classifieds' but it's currently going through a major modification right now, so it's not listed.
