Default Blowing a fuse and I don't know why

I have a Directed 650, a five channel amp that I am running in three channel mode. I am running separates, and then running the sub channel to an IDQ12 dual voice coil 2 ohm sub. I assume that I should wire this sub in series, so that's what I did (I think). I ran the positive from the amp to the positive on one voice coil, and the negative from the amp to the negative of the other voice coil. I then stripped one side of a cable off and ran one wire from the positive on one coil to the negative on the other. Upon turning the gain up 1/4 turn, I blew a fuse, and I cannot figure out why.

Ia m not sure what you are trying to do, but I don't think you should have a wire running from the negative to the positive posts of the voice coild, take that off....you should be ok after that.

Default I don't think that is the problem, it's a DVC sub so that it how you wire it in series

Just have to make sure that its not the negative and the positive on the same voice coil because them you're shorting out 1 coil. Usually the terminals are on opposite sides of the frame so the positive lead from your amp goes to the positive on one side and the negative lead goes to the negative on the opposite side. Then you run a wire from the remaining positive to the remaining negative.

If it is the main system fuse that is blowing then you have a shorting problem in your main power lead.

It is only one speaker but it has dual voice coil windings.
