Default Bose/non Bose EQ
Can someone verify if this is a VAGCOM setting or a grounded pin on the back of the HU?
If it's a pin, which one please?

It's the GALA or GA pin. The VAGCOM only changes the display on powerup ("BOSE")

Default It is both...
From memory:
- On pre-1999 cars it is a pin; and
- On Post-1999 cars it is done via Vagcom.

Nope. on an 06 A3 w/Concert II, had to ground the pin. VAG COM did nothing to the response curve.

Default Fair enough, I have only played with it on a 1997, 2000 and a 2001 A4.
All we did with the 2000 and 2001 cars was VAGCOM them. Now you've got me thinking...

Default RTA? We have a Roads & Transit Authority here in Sydney (Australia).
Given I don't know what an RTA is, probably not.

Note, I am no installer just a bloke that has owned three Audi's and helped some mates with installs in a few others.

Default RTA = real time analyzer. If you didn't put it on a scope, you don't know, is all...
We kept VAG COM ing the HU and the meter showed no response change... just turned the BOSE label on and off... the grounded pin seems universal based on my analysis of different wiring diagrams...
