With Bose you are pretty much stuck having to replace the amp and speakers to get improvement...can't just upgrade speakers and upgrading the deck only won't yield any significant improvement since it's still feeding the marginal Bose amp and speakers. Seach for "John TT" posts...also look for mine...I'm currently finishing the install on my '03 A4 with Bose.

You'll find background info there.
Here's how to do it:
1) You'll need to run power wire from the battery, through the firewall, and to your aftermarket amp (instructions on my site under the "misc." section and in my forum).
2) You'll need to tap the signal, ground, and remote amp turn-on at the Bose amp, which resides in the panel behind the 1st aid kit (the same place I put my crossover).
3) Install the amp and sub in trunk.

And you'll still have to run a power line to the trunk. You can avoid running signal cable to the trunk by tapping the line-level signal going to the Bose amp, but I'd suggest you do it right and run a good quality set of interconnects from the stock deck with the Blaupunkt adapter. That way you are all set up to upgrade the rest of the system as I described above should you decide to go that route in the future.
