Default Boston Pro Series Subs?

Currently I have two Fosgate 10" Punch HX2 subs running off a Fosgate bd1500.1 amp. I'm wondering should I consider two Boston pro series 10" subs? I've been told the bass would be a lot cleaner and tighter...any opinions? It's not that I'm not happy with the Rockford Fosgates but if there is a better alternative....

Default Yes, what you have been told is quite correct.

The boston pro series subs are really great, they will sound MUCH cleaner and tight compared the the RFs. There are other brands of subs that are equal or better than the bostons, like 1) Image Dynamics (idq series - happens to be my favorite ) 2) Automobile subs (also very very clean and tight. 3) Xtant subs are nice, personally i think they are too musical. 4) ADS subs are also very sweet, have great response and clarity 5) Diamond Audios Mac Daddy are decent, they are on the boomier side and also require a quite bit of power - but are still great subs 6) JLs W6- nice punch, but require power.

Yeah those are the one of the top of my head. I have had or have firends who have had all these subs - All about the same price. All will be much better than the fosgate subs you currently have.

hope this helps.

peace

Default Re: i got the Boston Competitor

i got this one cause if your in to rap hip hop then this sub is better then the Pro's cause the Pro's are made for jazz or classical music....my stereo shop said that the boston comp pushes a better bass....jus my $.02

I have a single 12" BAPro. Nice sub - very tight and controlled, not a lot of excursion tho.

Default I love the Bostons. However, one additional thought. If you like tight punchy bass...

consider going with two 8s instead. Here's the logic. The smaller the driver, the faster it moves. If it moves faster, it can recover faster from a previous note. That means tighter punchier bass, but less boom as it physically moves less air. Also, side benefit, two 8s take up less space than 10s or 12s, and cost less. I did it; here's the link to my setup...

Alpine Sound System
