Default Can I use an amplifier to power only the rear speakers in the Bose system?

Sorry for the noob question. In my B5 S4 w/Bose I replaced the rear deck speakers with some 6.5: Image Dynamics. From what I've been hearing, the passenger side stock rear deck speaker had an amp on it that I was supposed to transfer over to the new speakers. I do not recall seeing this supposed amp, but do notice that the rear speakers are not producing any oomph. Can I just install a 2 channel amp and call it a day? Looking at the Boston GT-20 55w per channel.
TIA

Default Yes and you should get an aftermarket amp anyway. But on a whole nother level, why replace the rear

speakers in the first place? You'd be much better off replacing the front speakers and forget about rear speakers (other then subs).
