Geez. Took my car to a local car audio shop Monday morning to get my stock system gutted and completely replaced. They looked at it for a bit and estimated the new install would take a day or so. I still haven't gotten it back!
I did think a day was a very ambitious estimate, but dang... 3 days?
Getting a huge amount of work done, though. Should be cool. Here's the equipment I'm getting installed, for those of you interested:
-Audi A4 Avant (my2000)-
Pioneer DEX-P1R head unit (also provides x-over and EQ)
Polk dx3055 component set (front doors)
Polk dx6 coax set (rear doors)
Clarion 75wattsX4 running the 4 doors
Polk db10 sub in sealed box
Clarion 100wattX2 bridged for sub
Monster Cable speaker wire (left over from my home theater stuff)![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
TIFF rca cables
1 farad cap to run both amps
(haven't gotten the cap yet... just leaving a space for it)
The shop is building an amp rack in the rear left corner of the car. It will basically cover up the compartment previously used for the stock changer, since I won't be using that anymore. They are also fabricating the dash kit to fit the head unit and a single DIN pocket under it. (That way I'll have a double DIN space if needed in the future.)
Anyway, it's apparently the amp rack and dash kit that are taking so long. Since I have a nice car, they are trying to "make it as nice as possible." I wasn't about to argue there.![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Hopefully it will turn out good! It seems not many people around here own Avants, and even fewer do full audio system installs in them, so I'll take some pics and post them when it's done.

Unfortunately I won't have pics of the install process itself (since it was done at the shop while I was at work), but I can post the before and after pics. ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
