CD Changer for '97 A4 Bose System - will this work?

I just picked up a '97 A4 with a Bose sound system (minus the cd changer). I really don't want to spend money to buy the OEM changer (bend over pls.).
VW has used Bose in the past, and I found the following converter:
"VWPAN97-Volkswagen `97-99 Bose Systems to Panasonic 6 disc changer. Plugs into 8 pin DIN & RCAs in trunk as found with the Bose systems.
Note: If a 13 pin DIN cable is found in trunk a Clarion 6 disc changer is direct plug in (no adapter required)." See http://www.stinger-aamp.com/peripheral/1999-Cat/CD-Changers.htm
I haven't torn apart the trunk yet to look at the cable and plug(s). Does anyone know if using this VW/Bose converter will work with the Bose system in the '97 Audi?
Thanks,
Kevin.

Sorry, but the VW had a Panasonic based head unit. Audi used either Blaupunkt or Alpine (haven't figured out for sure which, or both) for the head unit and an Audi only OEM changer made by Alpine.
