1st car in my name

Please forgive the newbie-nature of this question, but this the first audio work I plan on doing to the car and don't want to screw it up. Ideally, I want to replace the lower speakers in my front doors because one is broken and I'd like to get some more bass out of my unfortunately stock system.

Do I need component speakers or can I buy any 6.5" sized speakers?

It has been suggested to me to try Boston Acoustics SL65, but those speakers have a built-in 1" tweeter and I want to make sure that doesn't complicate the installation.

No you definately need components, upgrading the seperate tweeter is key to the overall SQ
