Connecting aftermarket stereo to stock amplifier

I've searched but have found nothing specific about replacing the Delta Head Unit with an aftermarket stereo and then hooking up the new stereo to the stock amp. Anyone had any experience with this type of application?

It's bolted to the rear left speaker and is the size of a *** packet. Disconnect the speakers and run new speaker cable from the HU. There are adapters available from Autoleads(www.caraudiodirect.co.uk), but there seems to be a tendancy for these to induce buzzing and alternator whine. The wiring to the amp is shockingly bad, you're better off without it.

The HU I was thinking of puttin in is a Kenwood and doesn't have an internal amplifier( it doesn't produce and watts), so I was thinking I could stick with the stock amp. Does the stock amp only power the rear speakers though?
