Default agreed - connect the battery(+) to the cap(+) and the cap(+) to the amp(+)

then separately ground the cap and amp.

If your cap has a "remote" terminal, this can be connected to the remote terminal on the amp which originally comes from the headunit

Default the top one has it's connections correct, but there's too much extra wire...

draw the battery on one side of the page and the amp at the other. The wire between is where you will be drawing current through. You want that cap inline on this wire, close to the amp. You do not want a lot of extra wire as shown in the top diagram.

As for the lower one, what are those connections to the amp? Assuming that the left two are power and the right two are ground (when have you ever seen an amp with mulitple connections such as this?) it's still poor wiring.

Default top one is alomost correct. The best way is to hook the amp tdirectly to the cap

no need for a dist. block with one amp... I have two and they're both connected to the cap.
