cut the Bose ground wire in my B7 S4, WOW~!
I just clipped the bose ground wire in my B7 S4 avant, all I can say is that it sounds like a whole different system! The anemic base and treble are gone, it sounds like the speakers finally came to life! I even had to put little rubber washers for my rear plate cause it started to rattle a little 
Very simple task, a buddy had radio keys, he simply pulled my head unit out with just the keys, and the bose wire is clearly labeled (brown wire), clipped and capped. thats it. took literally 5 minutes.
The sound imaging is now more forward oriented, so I had to fade it to the rear a few notches. good stuff.
