Default Cut my Bose wire. Thanks, Mac Sub!

Huge improvement in sound. I actually have highs and lows, it musn't be Bose! I may actually keep my stock front speakers a little longer now.
Only other mod was to add a seperate amp and sub, which has more powerfull bass now. Plus I disconnected the center channel speaker, and faded to full front. It sounds very nice now. I have more control over bass and treble, and seem to have more volume. Highly recommended.

Default Applies to all Bose systems. The Bose pin flattens the EQ on the HU so that

you get no Treble or Bass. The theory being that the magic of the Bose amp will provide the necessary frequency enhancements where needed. This might be great in the Bose lab but in a car you need lots of adjustment especially with all the different music sources used these days.
De-earthing the Bose pin just puts the HU back into normal mode with a smiley face EQ and plenty of adjustment on the Bass/Treble controls, giving you back control of what you listen to rather than some desk jockey in a Massachusetts lab.

Default Does this apply to the non bose system? I used to have the

symphony 1 but has been replaced by the alpine w205. It does still have the factory wire harness attached.

Default Only works on Bose equipped cars (as the name suggests) non Bose models use the same pin for GALA

or not at all. The Bose pin purely effects the EQ inside the HU, i.e. the quality of the sound going to the HU's pre-amp outputs. It doesn't kill any subs, just improves the sound going to them and provides a much bigger level of control when using the Bass/Treble controls.
The Bose pin is detailed on top of the HU, it's the opposite pin to the red perm live on the black power ISO plug (see above).
