It is not the power that is blowing your sub...
It is distortion or the size of your box is incorrect.
I have pumped more power than what is suggested many a time and never blown a sub...now I am talking over double what is recommended...Eclipse subs, Petris Hyper-cast subs...just under 1000watts and pefection...
Re-examine your application, your box, your amp then you won't have the problem again
