Default Dealer won't hook up the VAG tool to my car because of the aftermarket stereo. HELP!

I understand there has been some mention of the K wire before on this board. Has anyone been able to provide some method for dealing with this problem. The dealer said they received a bulletin saying that hooking up a VAG tool to my car could fry their tool because some sort of hookup ran through the stock radio.

Can anyone help me out here?<p>Mark

Default K Wire stuff

The K wire is BLUE and not part of the factory harness. So, if you used the factory harness, then you'll have no problems. They can hook it up and it won't fry anything. Refer to the FAQ on "changing the locking codes" for a brief blurb on the K-Wire. I had a tech from the dealership (who is a customer of my stereo shop) come up and point out the details of the K-wire to my installer before he put in my deck. Hope this helps. Good luck Mark! How's the turbo timer?
