I have a 2017 A4 all road. When I lock the car it enables the alarm system which would be fine except that I often have my dog with me. She is a 75 lb German Shepherd. She is well behaved and doesn't mind staying in the car, but when she moves she sets off the alarm. I cannot find a way to disable the alarm and still lock the car. The customer service agent confirmed that the alarm is activated by a motion sensor and that there is no way for the owner to change that. If I have my dog I cannot lock the car! Unsatisfactory design. I live in Colorado where everyone (almost) has a dog. Good grief. I love driving the allroad, my first Audi, but I am not impressed with the electronics and could provide a list of shortfalls. So I called dealer service and asked if there is a tech-accessible software switch to just keep the alarm off. No, they said. Is the dealer correct? Any thoughts?

I got my answer from the allroad discussion group. there is a switch on the driver's door near the latch which can be used to turn off the motion sensor. Sasha is now a happy dog. The pathetic thing is that two different agents on the customer help line were no help. Worse, the dealer's service department gave the wrong answer. Disappointing to say the least.
