i am considering installing a disc changer into a 2000 s4 with bose indash cd player - how big of a changer can i add? does the bose changer sound better? what is the largest/best quality changer i can add (must play burned cds)

You can get a 6 disc or an 8 disc. The "Bose" changer that you can get from Audi is a 6 disc, it is actually manufactured by Panasonic. You can buy a 6 disc or 8 disc changer from Panasonic with a small adapter cable much cheaper than the one from Audi, and they are the same unit, no difference in quality whatsoever. The 8 disc changer may not be as usefull as it sounds, you can't directly access disc 7 or 8 (you can press the preset buttons to get disc 1-6) but after disc 6 it will go to 7 then 8.
