hard drive for mp3 will come out.. I dont cair about the unit itself yet but I want to make sure my next hu has that option.. my pos panasonic is dying but gotta hold out for the alpine becase I know its quality and Ive talked myself in to likeing the looks of it. hate all the other options out now that have the hard drive storage options,,,, thanks.

It will work with any Ai-Net HU... so just pick any current Alpine HU you like. It also works standalone w/ RCA out, so you could use any other HU with AUX input.
Either way, this does mean you need a 2din hole in your dash.

becase i only want a 1din I think.... you know basicly I want the kenwood system but an alipne deck.

I have seen no HU with a built-in or hidden external HD.
If you like the way the kenwood works, you may want to talk to phatnoise (creators of the phatbox, and basically the keg), and see if they have an Alpine interface on the way (or any other brand you like), or at least in the works. The only aftermarket radio they support so far is sony, and I share your feeling of not wanting a sony.
Alpine does make an MP3 CD changer, if that interests you at all. I have never looked into it, but it equates to 3GB+ of MP3s.
