I'm installing a new set of component speakers in the front doors of my 1999.5 A4 and have a question about wiring.

I'm planning on just using the factory wiring (the rest of my stereo is stock and I don't plan on doing anything further). Do I hook the wires from the stock woofer to the crossover and then run my own wires to the new speakers from there, or do I need to tap in elsewhere?

Thanks for your help with what seems to be a dumb question. :-)

Yes that's fine, just don't use the stock tweeter wire as it has a cap built into it
