Dynamat on the inside of a subwoofer enclosure... good idea or not?
There are cables that run under it, and the idea was to prevent them from rattling, but my sub does not seem to really pound anymore. Not sure if it is a problem with adjustments, but it seems my Basslink has more pound then my MTX amp with Infinity Perfect 10.1
Thoughts?

Dude here is the deal...
I built a 3 piece box, center for the sub, and each side has a amp. The sub has about 2 inches to the right and left, and about 4-5 inches front and back (4 inches front, 4 inches back). It is raised about 4 inches from the floor under the stock rear seats. It is installed in 3/4 MDF. The bottom of the box is open to the underside of each amp. Each amp is sitting on a shelf. I lined the bottom of the floor with dynamat. I then put dynamat on all the sides of the box. I also put a piece between the cables and the back of the sub. So there are two 3"x13" openings on each side of the sub, that vent to the amp area. I hope that makes some sense. There is quite a bit of Dynamat all around though. When I first installed the sub in the trunk I got a lot of good bass. I installed the dynamat and now it does not have the same punch, even when turned up. I mean the seat will vibrate, but it just seems so muffled. I am assuming that the change was from the dynamat, but I am just not 100% sure. I was wondering what the dynamat would do to the sub.

Pics aren't shouwing up, but if I understand your description, I know
what your problem is.
Your enclosure is not airtight/fully sealed, nor is it ported? Further, it wasn't built to (interior volume) spec? In other words, you're operating it as an infinite baffe ("free air") sub?

Well, I wouldn't be suprised if you didn't
blow the damn thing. Really.
That would explain the lack of output.
Here's why--Perfects are NOT to be used in infinite baffle enclosures. It needs a .60 ft3 sealed (airtight!) or 1 ft3 ported (with proper port length, diameter, etc.) in order to not only sound right, but to take the power you're giving it.
How much power is your amp rated at?<ul><li><a href="http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/INFPERFECT101">http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/INFPERFECT101</a></li></ul>
