Default Dynamat and the like....worth it? and where is it efficient to do it?

I have an avant and am installing a sub next week. Where are the most important places to sound deaden the car? (c-pillar/walls etc...)
Thanks
Keegan

Default our Audi's are really solid in regards to the trunk and it being sealed

I installed a 15 inch sub and replaced all door speakers and the rattle came from the rear deck lid and I got dynamat in their two weeks ago and now the car is very quiet. I got the big door kit and it was enough to do the whole rear deck lid, trunk lid, and the license plate frame (which rattles big time on the outside). Now the car is very quiet...be careful though because once you get rid of that rattle you will find a new one and want to dynamat the whole freaking car to get rid of the sound which will add like 100 lbs to your car.

Default Inside door skins first. Here's what Dynamat recommends:

I'm very happy with the results of installing Dynamat Xtreme inside the four door skins of my 5000CSTQ. (Door panels must be removed. Allow a couple hours per door to do it right.) If nothing else, simply driving with audio off is quieter than before.

Eventually I'll get around to installing it elsewhere.

http://www.dynamat.com/car_faq.htm#What_part_of_the_vehicle_should_I_do_f irst?</a

Default S4 versus A4

Does the S4 have any additional sound-deadening in the doors versus the A4? Maybe it's my imagination, but my S4 door feels a litle heavier than my old A4.

Zoey, where did you dynamat the rear deck. On the inside of car or trunk side?

Only use Dynamat Extreme, the regular is a waste of time IMHO

Default sry for the late response. Answer: Rear deck lid...

it was rattling like crazy. I used the remaining part to line the trunk lid.

Hope this helps.

The bass is cleaner now as less energy is wasted on rattles...
