Default Finally done! Polk DB 5250 Components 5.25" in the front doors. (Minor BWW)

I went to Circuit City today with the intentions of buying the Polk db650 6.5" coakials for the rear deck. They got great reviews at Crutchfield and everywhere else, and are at a good price of $99. Of course, they didn't have them in stock, but the guy said the Component set of the same size (but including 2 crossovers and 2 tweeters) was only $50 more (normally $200)

The 5.25" components set was also the same price. Knowing that my door speakers were blown, I figured I'd spend the extra to save in the long run and tackle the doors first. Unfortunately, this also meant a bunch of extra work creating new mounting brackets since the door woofers are only 4".

So my solution is in the pics, along with some other steps along the way.

Bottom screw holding the crossover rail is also holding one side of the MDF mount in.

Tweeters held in with clear 100% Silicon rubber. Holds great and peels off if needed.

Funny thing is, during the install, the interior lights were on, along with my Sirius radio, so the battery was pretty much dead when we tried to test them. I'm way too tired tonight, so I'll get back tomorrow with sound results. I have an older kenwood amp in the trunk that I'm going to attemp to rewire so I don't underpower these Polks by running them on the factory deck.

Default I wonder if you're going to get midbass cancellation with that mounting.

The back wave is not sealed off from the front wave. There is a possibility of cancellation there. You think you could've fit a 6.5" mid in there with that type of mounting method?

I highlyy doubt a 6.5" would fit. It got really tight, especially on the driver's side.
