If the radio has been decoded will the security light not come on at all? I'm trying to determine if the LED id dead or if it's related to the code.

If it's related to the code then how would you go about "recoding" the radio? When I hold down FM1 and AM the word "CODE" comes up then goes to 1000. I should just be able to punch in a code of my choosing then hold FM1 and AM again and then it will display "SAFE", right? Am I missing something, because when I do just that, it just shows "CODE" again and goes to 1000 again.

I am pretty sure that the security light should blink when the car is off, IIRC. On the code, if you put it in twice, does it still prompt you for the code? Maybe you have to put it in twice...

but I'm guessing that's only when the security code is active. So I want to re-activate that and then if the light still doesn't come on I'll swap in a new LED.

I was hoping that someone would have the little Gamma manual and could tell me what it says about setting the code. I have the Wiesbaden manual and followed the instructions for setting the code for that, with the exception of pressing the different set of buttons for the Gamma, but like I said, it just keeps rolling me around to "CODE" and then "1000".
