Default going non-bose --> bose... what is needed to go from HU to amp?

I found a bose amp and thought I would upgrade using factory components instead of buying an aftermarket amp. Is there some sort of proprietary cable running from HU to amp? What is needed and where might I find it? Or better yet - is there already an amp back there that I can just replace? The car stereo shop I talked to seemed to think that was the case, but when I look all I see is speakers.

In addition, I've just added a 10" sub in a box with a 200w amp in the trunk, so obviously I'm just doing the bose stuff in the 'cabin'.

Default Absolutely not worth it. Go aftermarket

to retrofit Bose, you'll need to completely rewire the car from HU to trunk (power, front & rear pre-outs & speakers), change all cabin speakers to the Bose 2ohm units, or aftermarket 2 ohm units, then get your head unit recoded with the Bose EQ via dealer or someone with VAGCOM.
The result, will be less treble and woolly bass, no real incease in sound quality.
Definately go aftrmarket, much easier and much better result
