Default Good 4 channel amp for under $400?

Well, I've asked on sounddomain, but I thought I'd ask here as well-
I'm looking for a good 4 or 5 channel amp to drive my Boston RC41s in the front and my Boston 6x9s in the back. My Sony 604EQX failed on me and I haven't any idea when I'll get it back from repair.

I want a neutral-sounding amp with good current handling and above all, great sound quality.

I've looked at the PPI PC series, Orion XTR, RF 400a4, Planet Audio 6 channel, DEI 650 and the Alpine V12 F357. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to hear any of these amps except the RF.

Any suggestions on what I should buy- I don't mind buying online, but I can't audition all of these amps w/ Boston speakers, so I need some help here.

Try the Nakamichi PA-504. 4x50W. The 50W are real 50W, unlike specs for most other amps. $500. Nakamichi has a web site.

Default Crutchfield had a good sale on Infinity amps....

I got mine for 1/2 price - $400. Its 50x4 + 200x1 RMS. I don't know if they are still on sale or not.
Unfortunately, I'm running through my stock speakers, so I can't really compare to your setup, but it is an Infinity, so I'm sure it's good.

Default I wouldn't be so sure.

I have 2 infinity amps, and they are definently not of the highest quality. I believe they are being discontinued, because the newer infinity showcars all have JBL amps. Just my 2 cents.

Default Why do you say that?

I guess they may not be the highest quality, but how many high quality 4/5 channel amps can you get for under $400?

Default I'm not considering Infinity amps (more)

The ones I listed before are my top contenders- I can get the DEI 650 for $400, which would probably be my top choice unless I can find something cheaper- it got a great review in Auto Sound & Security and it has the same specs as you mention, although the sub channel may be 250W.

I don't think Infinity is really an amp company and I don't like their home speakers, so I'm already biased against them. Thanks for the rec., though.

Default Zapco or Brax/helix

I found both of these amps for under $400 online.
Zapco AG360 from http://www.thezeb.com
Brax Helix 40x from http://www.theautophile.com
The helix seems to be the better amp, but look at them both and see what's right for you.
