I did the entire trunk lid and spare tire well. Most of the trunk floor is already damped from the factory. The sides of the trunk are partially OEM damped, and seem to be kinda tough to get to.

I don't have any vibration, but I'm not pushing a whole lot of power. If you are going to use Dynamat Extreme, you might want to consider Brown Bread or B-Quiet Extreme, both at www.b-quiet.com. Both are much cheaper and appear to be very similar in composition.

Default No, but my install required the entire trunk to be recarpeted. Works just as good as Dynamat. Rock

solid, no vibration.

Default What direction do you guys have the sub pointing?

Also, what kinds of subs and how much power?

Subs should fire into open air space to best reproduction, and on top of that, firing them directly into the rear seats is just like firing them into a wall. Unless you leave one/both of the seats facing down, it's going to muffle the effect somewhat.

I'm going to have 2 10"s mounted into my side wall firing straight into the center/opposite side of the trunk. I'm then having a custom rear deck cut for me out of MDF which will maintain the factory rear speaker mounts, but also have more holes in them than the stock deck in order to allow more air to be pushed into the cabin. Hopefully that will be enough.

Default I have 1 12".

I just got it installed, it fires directly back towards the license plate. About 1.5 - 2 ft. from sub to trunk lid. The trunk (door/lid whatever) rattles pretty bad. So I'm probably going to get some dampening material.

Is it the trunk lid or the license plate rattlings against the car?

Default The trunk lid.

The license plate is on tight and doesn't rattle. The little handle above the plate looks as if its going to fall off, but its not loose or anything. I'm hoping the dynamat or whatever will fix it.

Default that sucks

Nothing is worse then a rattling trunk lid. Dynamat will help in making it heavier and make for less vibrations, but you may have to use a lot of it.

You may want to look into something like beefing up the seals on the trunk itself. This could help as well.
