Default Has anyone with an A4/S4 placed a sub in the cutout on the right side of the trunk?

That little area where the cargo box goes seems like a nice place for an 8" - I'm looking for a simple and stealth solution to add some bass to my non-Bose Symphony.

Thanks!

Default Search for pics of the setup that Gtakacs has...

in his '03 A4 Avant, amps in the right storage cutout, sub in the left. I think. He's done an extensive write-up of his install, including lots of photos. I saw it in the B6 A4 forum.

Default It's on the left because on the right, there is already the stock amplifier and the gas tank filler.

And I put my aftermarket amps there too.

All of the setups I've seen in sedans are on the left as well for the same reasons.

Here is a nice setup that uses an 8" Elemental Design sub. That little beast can handle 450W RMS!

Mine is a 10" Elemental Design e10O.

Default question for you RE the elemental design sub....

how do you like it over the ID sub? the problem i'm having is that my IDQ-10 DVC keeps blowing, so i'm thinking about changing the sub altogether. How's the SQ on the elemental design sub? how much is it, and where'd you get it from? TIA...

Default Re: question for you RE the elemental design sub....

I have no comparison to the IDQ as I have never owned one (due to their low power rating).

The e10O I have replaced my Infinity Perfect 10.1d (which I still have for sale).

I really like this sub, it can shake the car with the 500W RMS I have for it, but it is really clean and tight bass, just like I like it, no boomy crap.

Elemental Design does not have a retail chain, they are sold direct from the manufacturer, cutting out the middle man. I got mine for around $170. Their website is http://www.edesignaudio.com
