Merry Christmas everyone!
91 CQ, pulled out the side panels, disconnected the factory speakers/harness. Weird connectors, not anything like the skinny/fat slide on that the after-market 5.25" Pioneer speakers I got required, so I tried pulling what appeared to be the wires connecting to the speakers (plug with 2 connectors, not the one with 4-5 connectors (assuming that's the amplifier connector). That was a no-go, so the impatient pr*ck in me decided to snip the two wires and connect them directly to the speaker.
turned factory radio on, changed fade/balance to right-rear, and got nothing... reversed the two wires to the speaker posts, still nothing.
WTH am I doing wrong?!?

From your description it's impossible to say what you connected to but Bose speakers typically run at .5 Ohms which means an aftermarket speaker, which is typically 4 Ohms, is receiving 8 times less power than the Bose speakers.

OK, here's the connector for the right rear speaker - I cut off the two wires I thought were for the speakers, but guess not... or maybe not getting enough power to make sound.
Tested the speakers in the front speaker location, and they're working OK
