I bought the 1 Farad 20v Precisionlink capacitor for my car but I don't know how to charge it. The instructions on the packaging are very vauge. It says to hook the charge card in place (I know how to do that) and then connect the the postive wire to 12v positive and the negative to a 12v ground.
Has anybody done this before? If so, what do I use for my charging power supply?

connect it to the battery with a 100 ohm resistor to charge it, if its a digital cap with the voltage monitor on top, i dont think you need to charge it. if you hook a regular cap right up to the battery though, it will drain before you know it.

I don't want to get into how silly I find this, but the principles are the same as a CMOS bypass capacitor.
Just hook it up normally, it will charge itself when the power is turned on.
The charging power supply is either the battery, or whatever power circuit you are going to hook it to.
