Help me understand the specs on two JL Audio subs

Hello,
I'm going to buy a JL sub and have a custom box fabricated for the driver's rear quarter panel area of my RS4. It looks like based on what I need for power, I'm looking at either the 10W3v2 or the 10W3v3-4. I'm also somewhat concerned about mounting depth which is why I'm staying away from the 10w6 and higher. I doubt I'll need as much punch as those provide.
The first one is a dual 4-ohm sub while the second is non-dual 4 ohm. What does that mean? I'd like to wire this to a single amp and have that provide only bass sound for the cabin. Which is the better to go with?
Thanks for your help.

to run a lower (or higher) impedance. Which one you choose should really depend on what amp you will use to run it. For instance, a quality amp rated to put out 100W @ 4 ohms will put out 200W @ 2 ohms and you get a 2 ohm load by running the dual coil sub in parallel (single output on amp goes straight to BOTH voice coils). None of this has much to do with the frequencies that the subs will be producing...that's a job for a crossover.

The reason is that although it won't make a difference for the amp you're planning to use now, if later down the road you choose to upgrade the amp, there are more options for high-powered mono amps at 2 ohms than at 4 ohms. Typically, (excluding the JL and Alpine amps) mono sub amps will put out more power at 2 ohms than they do at 4 so you can get away with a "smaller" amp if you show the amp a 2 ohm load.
