You are in luck that Audiworld is such a place.
Wait! Are the pictues already in either JPG or GIF format? If they are part of some propritary software, check the options if there is a way to export them as JPGs.
Assuming they are JPGs: Now, save the files from the CD to your C: drive (or wherever on your computer). You should probably rename the files so you don't use some default names/numbers that someone else might write over later. A good idea is to start every filename with your initials - this way you will always be able to find the pics you posted to AW very easily.
Now click on "Post Picture" up above.
Click on "Browse..."
Now locate the first of the files you want to upload. Once you located it, click "Upload". In a matter of seconds, you will see the image you uploaded and the address where it lays in cyberspace. Notice that all of your pics will be loacated at:
http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/
with your filenames at the end.
This entire address is what you want to enter in the box "Optional Image URL:" below when you create a message.
For the first time, click "Preview Message" to verify that the image gets posted. Actually whenever you enter a link in the "Optional Image URL:" and then press "Post Image", it will ask you to verify that what you see is what you want. So really, it previews it for you.
You may want to try the above in steps. Like first, take a current JPG that's already on your computer and go through the remainder of the process to post it. Then worry about what's involved in getting those images off the CD.
Also, you can post any image link in "Optional Image URL:" for an image that is out on the net. If you are using Netscape, simply right click on an image and select "View Image". Now go up to the "Location" window of your browser and copy that link to the "Optional Image URL:" box and you will post that image.
So, the basics are:
have an image on the net.
enter the link to it in the "Optional Image URL:" box.
Remember, the image does not *have* to be on AW, it just happens to be a convenient spot for you to upload pics.
I can just as easily go to http://www.cbs.com, right click on Dave Letterman's head, choose "view image" (using netscape), copy that link and here you go. (pic defaults to *above* message.)<p>Mark P
