Help with stock system!!
I want to upgrade my stock audio system (2002 A4), does it make sense to change out the subwoofer and get a seperate amp for it, leaving the rest of the system as is?

If your goal is mainly more bass output, then yes. Just...
keep in mind that the stock system is fairly low on power when compared to many aftermarket amps. Too big of an amp or sub and your mids may not be able to keep up.

if you want to add only the bass, you might consider adding powered bass-tubes.
but i recommend you to change all speakers since the stock only put out 20-25watts peach. what can you expect from it??????
