BTW - If you're into the progressive stuff (Rush/Dream Theater) you might want to check out Devin Townsend. I've yet to see one person dislike his Infinity or Ocean Machine albums. Email me if you want to know more.

Mike,
Good CD's for showing off are:
Thom Rotella, (Gold disc), track 10
Amazingly tied, firm and lively.
Marcus Miller, Live in ?? (not Live & More)
This is how a bass should sound. No boom, but high end fat bass with great sounding high hats.
Sheffield Pop Experience (gold)
For the pure audiopfile. Not that much bass, but very clear and open.
Jennifer Warnes, Famous Blue Raincoat
My favorite. Not into this kind of music that much, but the sound, the imaging (Jennifer is standing on my hood (or is this my imagination)) the emotion are superb. Absolute a must have.
And off course the newer CD's of Pink Floyd

All songs are on their respective CD's:
Marc Cohn, "Strangers In A Car"
Marc Cohn, "True Companion"
Heart, "Straight On" (acoustic)
Heart, "Dog and butterfly" (acoustic)
Steve Winwood, "Wake Me Up On Judgement Day"
Sade, "The Sweetest Taboo"
Billy Joel, "She's Always A Woman"
Billy Joel, "Pressure"
Billy Joel, "Allentown"
Well, those are probably my favorite individual songs that are in there now, but I really like all that I have from those artists. I really like many types of music including metal and especially 80's music. Generally though, I try and choose CD's for the car where I like every single song on the CD. I'd say atleast 70% of the CD's I own only have two or three songs on them that I really like a lot. And I'm really big on acoustic performances. I also prefer music with punchy bass lines. Heart's "Straight On' has a great bass line, IMO.
BTW, I like almost all the bands you listed also!![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Note to self: Must dig out some Metallica for next trip!<p><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/A4xtsg5.jpg" BORDER=0></a>

I've been playing since 5th grade. I'm in a band that plays industrial gothic metal..(don't ask!).. and we are currently trying to get signed by a record label.
