how can i tell if my rear-deck speaker (Bose) is blown out, or just rattling somewhere?

putting pressure on the back deck with your hands should cancel enough vibrations in the car for you to listen to the speaker closely. if the speaker sounds ****ed up, right up close then it probably is. if the rattle goes away when you put pressure on the deck, consider adding dynamat on the rear deck (underneath might work fine) to cancel out vibrations coming from the speaker.

push down on the speaker cone, if it does not go down smoothly (i.e. feels rough) then it is blown. Push down on a speaker that is not blown so you can tell a difference. If it's rattling it's probably blown.
