Default How do get my non-bose S4 symphony radio to display the Bose name on the digital display (more)...

My friend did this and I wanted to know how he did it (he won't share his secret). I don't listen to much music in my S4, but I was just curious.

I think it must be "recoded" by a VAG 1551 or equiv tool.

Is it possible to recode it to say something *other* than Bose? That could be interesting

I doubt it. "BOSE" is probably stored in unalterable ROM in the head unit.

Default VAG tool does this on the CONCERT so

I expect it would work for the Symphony as well.
I think it also changes the equalization on the
outputs as well.
