Most likely the home subs run 8 ohm and the car runs 4 ohm (Not sure about that) Anyway, probably no

Default here is the deal

first off, no, you cant just hook them up in place of the rear speakers, youl burn up your radio. second, what kind of subs are you using, if they are from full range tower speakers, they are most likely not even subs, but rather full range speakers. it really isnt a good idea, but if you really want to do this, buy a seperate amp and hook them up to that, but please, please dont hook them up to your radio, just take this as a fair warning.

Default Yes (and it wont hurt anything) but...

...first caveat, dont hook up both the stock speaker and the sub speaker to the same stock amp output, the stock amp may not be capable of handling the heat fom the increased current demands.

The odds are (as Santori pointed out) the home subs are nominally 8 ohm impedance. Most car audio amps dont have a lot of voltage available since it is such a piece of work to generate high voltages from 12V DC so car systems compensate by using 4 ohm and 2 ohm impedance drivers permitting more power delivery per available volt (more current).

As a result your home subwoofers may not produce the levels you want with the stock amps.

By the way there is no difference between a 12" driver in a box called a sub and the same 12" driver in a full range speaker. Some subwoofers are in boxes that would be unsuitable for a typical full range system use (such as bandpass boxes), and technically subwoofers are optimized to fill in below the range of most full range speakers (10Hz-60Hz) but practically speaking most subs are just the bottom part of a full range system (20Hz-200Hz) in a separate box. When you have a 24" woofer in a telephone booth size enclosure, that is a sub, everything else is a pretender.
