How does the Phatnoise hook up to a B6 factory head since the changer is in the dash?

In my dearly departed B5, the changer was in the trunk, so it was an easy swap with the right cable. Not so the B6, I imagine. Don't want the Phatbox up front if I can avoid it!

I just did an install with a cable I got on ebay that was long enough to mount in the trunk. It works great.
On the back of the radio on the harness with the speakers, there are inputs for a CD changer.

..you can buy the VW pbox interface cable and the B6 glovebox CDC cable...and still be less expensive than the $100 trunk CDC cable.
This is a common process for a lot of the B6 guys. Do a search in the audio and B6 forums.
See my sig for the related pbox part#'s.
Good luck!

ebay. That's were I got mine and the install was easy.
The neatest glove box install I saw was where a guy removed the heat sink and mounted it upside down. Then he attached some tin to cover the circuit board. It didn't look real good.
The other, a guy just dropped it in the glove box loose. It sits in there kind of taking up all usable space. Not good for the connection on the back or using the glove box for anything else.
Unless there's a W/U I've missed, the trunk cable is the way to go if you spend $48 (that's shipped by the way) or $100, it's still worth it.

...I pulled the heat sink off last weekend and have purchased a sheet of 16x16 abs plastic to fabricate a new box that will resemble the glovebox cdc for the B6/B7. I agree, I'd rather not leave the circuit board exposed to the elements (especially when mine will be installed in the trunk). Stay tuned.
there have been some w/u's in one of the phatbox forums...but nobody has posted any pix.
