How much space for bose amp & sub in S4 avant?
I've got an '01 S4 Avant w/ the BOSE upgrade. I've got Infinity Kappa's installed in place of the speakers and want to replace the bose amp. For now, I'm going to disconnect the bose sub and add a sub later this year. The amp I'm getting has dimensions 9 1/16 X 12 9/16 X 2 11/16.
In a perfect world, I'd like to put the amp in the space currently used by the bose amp and sub (in the left rear compartment). Then, cutout the CD changer mount (which I don't have) and install a new sub there.
Has anyone seen the bose amp and sub in this location? Does this seem like a decent plan?
Just in case anyone's interested: I fashioned my own 5 1/4 adaptor mount for the front speakers out of 1/4" hard board - worked perfectly and I didn't have to track down the quartz adapters.
