What are the power ratings on the comps?

Regardles though, they would surely sound nicer with some nice amps....

Simple Answer : YES

there is of course many more considerations, but Im assuming you're going for an increase in sound quality or loudness, and if you don't hook those up to an amp you're probably not going to increase either one.
