I bought the in AVIC-Z1 to put in my 2004 s4 in-dash unit, and im not sure if i need a Double DIN install kit? The pioneer website sucks with this stuff, and have been no help. I havent recieved the unit yet, so i dont know what the expect...Is it gonna be a problem with the bose system? How do I bypass it to play DVD when moving? Help!

Default You won't find that kind of information on the Pioneer website.

It would be impossible for them to know the configuration of every single manufacturerd car and what is required for their units to fit. There are other companies with large databases of vehicles and application info like Metra and American International.

Bypassing the Pioneer units can be done but from what I recall it's not easy and as avincar said, video should not be active while you're driving.

You will need the Metra 99-9102 Installation Kit. You will also need the Bose Amplified wiring harness Metra 70-1787 + power antenna adapter, I think its a BAA22 from BestKits. The only problem you will run into is that Audi uses a data cable to turn the stereo on and off. You will have to tap a Switched Ignition wire. I got mine from the climate control unit, but they are available at the fuse box also. Hope this helps.
