Default I need some small sub recommendations

I just purchased a set of Diamond S500s Hex components and an Xtant 404m to use with the Blaupunkt adapter in my A4 with the delta head unit.

I plan on bridging the rear channels of the amp to a sub. This configuration will only give the sub 200 watts @ 4 ohms so I need a sub thats not power hungry (I really want the Eclipse 88120 now, but I don't have the money for another amp). Whatever I get is def going in a sealed box.

I'm considering the following:
-JL Audio 10w6 or 10w3
-Alumapro Alchemy
-Infinity Perfect
-Image Dynamics IDQs

I'm mainly interested in SQ at this point. Which sub has relatively low power needs and will give me decent spl and great SQ?
What other subs should I look at?

Is it worth removing the rear speakers to vent bass into the cabin? Does removing the ski-sack help substantially?

Thanks in advance.

Default I think Image Dynamics are what you are looking for....

I don't know about the Alumapro, but the infinity needs 400w or more IMO. For some odd reason, I'm just not a fan of JL's subs. I've posted my feelings numerous times on that one, just scroll down. Can you run that amp im 2-ohm bridged?

Default Out of the subs listed i would recomend the IDs also -

For sq you should prob. go with a IDQ 12 or 10. I would sugest a 10 since the power you have is not going to really make the 12 perform (unless you are able to run 2 ohms in that case i think it will work) You can also go with 2 of their ID 8s _ I have 2 ID8s right now and they are great, not to boomy but loud and very accurate. Im running about 150 watt to both and they sound great - also 8" only require a small amount of space!

If you get another amp i would go with the infinity.

hope this helps

peace

Default The IDQ 12s worked very well for me.

A IDQ 10 might work for you as well if you want more trunk space.

I'm running the 12 with a slightly larger box than suggested with accoustic foam and the bass is really tight and clean.
