1) if i do this, what kind of amp should i get? don't really understand the whole 2/3/4 channel thingy. how many channels should i get?

2) i plan on doing a carputer, too eventually. do i still need an amp to run my speakers? or, will that be done through the carputer box?

The 2/3/4 thing pertains to a 4 channel amp. Most 4 channel amps can run two channels bridged into one for more power. So you can run 2 channels normally, and the other two in bridged mode to yeild a total of 3 channels. Or you can run both pairs of channels in bridged mode, thereby yeilding a total of 2 channels. Hence the 2/3/4 nomenclature. Hope this helps!

if i put a carputer in my car, will i still need the amp? how would i connect the carputer up to run with the speakers?

i'm very newb, been lookin at different sites, but still no help as i get confused easily.

does that make sense?
