Default impedence question??

I have an alpine amp that handles 30Wx2 at 4 ohms, 50wx2 at 2 ohm and 100wx1 at 4 ohm bridged

It used to be bridged to two 8 ohm Image Dynamic id12's wired in parallel to deliver a 4 ohm load to the 4 ohm bridged amp...
Now for my question....

Would it be bad to only wire 1 8 ohm sub the the bridged 4 ohms? what would happen? is there any way i can hook up only one 8 ohm sub to this amp?
thanks

Default Sure, you can run this amp at 8 ohms to 1 8 ohm sub, but...

this would not be your best choice since by increasing the resistance (ohms), you decrease the power output of the amp - 1/2 of what you would get with a 4 ohm setup, you should get 1 4 ohm sub, 10", or 12", run 100W to it, and it should be fine...an 8 ohm sub would just limit the efficiency of the amp, and you wouldn't get a noticable difference in SQ...
