Infinity Kappa 2 ohm OK with Symphony II + HU, non Bose? B6 A4
I am about to install a pair of Infinity Kappa 52.7i speakers in the front doors, to replace the OE set, the Infinity Kappas are 2 ohm impedance, and the OE speaks are 4 ohm. I know the Infinity Kappas at 2 ohms will be a higher current load on the HU, but at normal listening volume, should not overload the amp, right?

I have not heard on any one running 2 ohm impedance load on the HU, ....
thus my concern. I thought of using a series resister, but the impedance is a reactive impedance and varies with frequency, so a simple resistor would raise the overall impedance, but I wonder if an inductor would be a better way to raise the impedance a little. (IE, the inductive reactance,) Maybe that is overkill and the series resistor would do just as much to limit the load on the HU amp. I agree a separate amp would be the best solution, and will probably happen, but not now, maybe next spring.
