last night. Everything works fine & sounds great, but it puts off a whole lot of heat. So much that when I touched the built in amp that it burnt me. I inspected all of the wires & noticed that it burnt through the insulation on one of my RCA wires that goes to my subwoofer's amp. So I called Harman Kardon's tech dept. this morning & they said that it indeed does generate a ton of heat & is normal for that model. So now I need something to wrap my wires with that resists a lot of heat because it's such tight quarters in there & I know some wires will inevitably make contact with the unit. What can I use? Thanks!

as far as the heat shielding... maybe try finding some extra liner that they use in the engine bays, etc and wrapping the cables.
oh yea, a more expensive option might be to find a tool supply store and get some of the fabric that welders use to keep themselves from catching on fire.

I like it but I have problems w/ FM reception. Stations always cut out and another station takes over. Wondering if it's the antenna and/or adapter, or if something is wrong with the unit.
Do you notice any FM problems?

so I think it's partly the deck, partly the car. I can't pick up AM stations at all with any aftermarket deck & very faintly with the OEM Delta. I don't know if it has to do with the antenna being embedded in the back window or not.

and often another totally random station takes over. Honestly I think it might be the HU, but I'm too lazy to do anything about it. I think I'm gonna have an external non-powered antenna installed, then if it's still a problem return it for service. It's only 6 months old, so I have time!
