Default Installing amp to Symphony head unit in 2001 S4

I'm planning on installing a 4 channel amp in my 2001 S4 and so far the easiest way looks like tapping the line out near the rear speaker. Has anyone found an easy way to tap the front line outs so that I can use all 4 line outs on the head unit? I've read some of the posts hear about the Blaupunkt adapter and how some people have chopped the stock adapter and some have pulled the pins from the Blaupunkt and inserted them into the stock but I don't quite understand it. My last question is, where did everybody penetrate the firewall to get the power cable into the car? Is there an existing hole big enough for 4 ga. or do I have to drill one? TIA.

Default Re: Go under

So if you went under the car, what did you cover the wire with? Did you use flex loom or something a little more weather proof? What size wire did you run? My other question would be, where did you tap the line level outputs? Behind the deck or at the rear speaker? Of course this only applies if you kept the stock deck.

Going under could be an idea but seems like it could be dangerous too unless there's some type of overcurrent protection on both sides of the cable. By the way, if the cable is outside of the car, did you drill a hole behind the rear seat to get in or is there a hole there already?

Thanks!
