Try to adjust you crossover to a lower frequency and up the gain.
I also just added a sub and had to play around a lot to get the right sound. I have everything stock Bose and added a 12" Diamond running off of a Directed 600D amp at 400 watts. Also try to switch the amp sub phase control to 180.
