finally got my amp to look how i wanted it too today, and it came out pretty damn good, except for one thing. in the midst of the install, the amp had +,-, and remote hooked up as well as the speakers, and i turned on the radio just to make sure the amp would go on, perfect, went right on like it is supposed to. so i then hooked up the rca's, and finished what i had to do with the whole setup, then went to fire her up again, heard a thump, thump thump thump from the speakers and that was it, the amp went up into smoke. all i can say is that i have had the absolute worst luck with this car than i have ever had with anything before in my life. since i got the car in september, i have been hit 3 times, bent a wheel due to bricks in the middle of the f*cking highway, and now blew up my $4000 McIntosh amp. hopefully this baby can be repaired, seeing that i paid so much for the amp i might as well pay for the repair, do you think it can be repaired? oh by the way, this amp has been in the car for a few months already with no problems at all, just a different mounting place. oh well, i guess i deserve it.

You should have no problem getting it fixed. I know of Mac amps (home audio) that have been working for over 20 years now.
I would be carfull though on who you get to fix it. If you live in Ny I would send it directly to McIntosh. They are in Binghamton.
I rep the home audio line in NYC.

I called McIntosh today and they said it would be no problem to fix, and if they cant, they will probably send me a new one. all i have to do is send it to their repair shop in New Jersey. The nice lady told me that they would probable take a look at it as soon as they get it and do it right away. I really do love the service you get when you buy a qualitly product.
