Default Looking for suggestion on a 4 ch amp? (Alpine MRV340, MTX 6304, ?)

I have 4 Excelon XR50P speakears (separate mid and tweets) in the cabin (2 front and 2 rear) - http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/product.jsp?productId=470. I am looking to replace an old Kenwood amp (KAC645) that powers them with something better.

Any suggestions or comments on the two listed above:
http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/thunder6304.cfm
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1395191284.

Any other input is appricated. TIA!

P.S> Should I look into rear fill speakers to replace the 2 separates in the back? How much will I get out of this?

here's some other recomendations:
phoenix gold titanium series (forgot the model#)
orion xtr800.4
zapco 360
diamond audio d104
hifonics amps
helix amps
digital audio
rockford fosgate

for 4ch amps better use 100watts rms each. that'll give the speaker their optimum performance since most of speakers is rated 100 watts rms

but, if you want to have better sound in front stage, might consider 4ch amps for front only, just 2ch for mids, 2ch for tweets...if the speaker can handle 200 watts rms. as for the rear speaker, you can use from stock HU speaker output. the rear speaker is for filling the gap so it's not to be taken serious

i use dynaudio wlq220 and feed them by 100x4 bridged to 400x2...that's 400 watts per channel!!! sound quality is great! they sure like big power

Default Okay...what?

Your Orion 4 ch. amp is 100W X 4 at 4 ohms...and your components are also 4 ohms... OK,...how do you get 400W per channel at 4 ohms each? This doesn't make sense, you can't run your speakers at 2 ohms, you can get 800 W at 2 ohms, but not at 4...also, your speakers would blow with this kind of power RMS...That's a lot of power...Also, 100 W per channel for components is MORE than enough to play at high volumes WITH SQ...most speakers are not rated at 100 W RMS per channel , yeah, 100 W max power output, but who cares about that? - unless you have high end speakers, at least $400 per set, yes the Dynaudio's can handle it but that's a pretty nice speaker, and 100W is PLENTLY, even for those...you can even have 50 - 75 watts per cannel and be in good shape, 400 W is rediculous, and not possible with this setup...I have a similarly powerful amp, a PPI PC4800 ($1000), 100W x 4 at 4 ohms, Diamond Audio s600a components ($600), and it is way more power than I could want for listening...100W is pretty powerful for a set of components

Default Re: it's 400w@4ohm bridged to 2 ch

orion xtr800.4 rated:
100x4 @4ohm or
200x4 @2ohm or
400x2 @4ohm

i bridged the amps to 400x2...and the results is awesome to me. dyn's can take it good, no clipping and the dynamic is great. of course the gain is set low to balance the power.

dyn's components are adequate for 100w, but they are flexible to more watts. the mids it self rated 100wrms, and the tweets rated 100wrms...but it also capable of less than it and they sound good, but if you give them big watts, they'll sound alot better.

you can't compare them by other common speakers...just look at their 3" voice coil in the mids..other components only 1"...heck, my sub's VC is only 2"!

that's the diff about dyn's (i said in my opinion, not to commercialized them). they like big raw power, but still, the sound quality is great

i checked the dyn's mids and tweets they can take up to 250w for mids and 150 for tweets...that's the reason i dare to use 400 watts for them

the main concern is the gain, by using 100w, you can set the gain up to 50-75% to give good staging, but if you give 400, you can only use 25-50% of it's gain to give the same, even better staging.

a friend of mine also use dyn wlq5 just like me in his corolla and drive them by 100 watts each.....to tell the truth, mine sounds much better. the mid-bass is great, the highs is great, not too harsh (good xover). tonal balance, dinamics, way better than his
