Default making a replica Jeff Bipes Adapter...

I did a search and couldn't come up with a schematic for it. If someone is making these let me know before I go through the trouble of making one.

Before I start I just have a few questions.
1. Obviously there are line outs on the cd changer plug (these would also be the same as the line inputs on the hu). Right?
2. Wouldn't you just need to toggle the power on each device. You turn on the cd changer when using the cd changer, and turn on PB when using PB?
3. Once power is toggled, all I need to do is spice the line inputs and I am done. (not really a question but more of an observation)
4. Does the PB need to have power at all times? If so this would ruin my plan.
5. If the cd changer is disconnected does it loose it's position (what track its playing)?
6. Does anyone have a wire diagram for the cd changer plug? (No I didn't search....yet)

If I'm way off base just be blunt. I have lots of ideas and not all of them are good.

Sorry, I just thought of something. Besides the line outs and power/gnd, the pb will also need a communication line right? Searching phatnoise now.....not much info. How does the voice index interface work? Is there a mic input to the hu and pb? I guess i need more info on the voice indexing. Anyone?

will the pinouts for the 13 pin connection be the same if using pre-can-bus? Also, from your pdf, which is awesome, it looks like i only need to run r-data, ch data, ch clock, and all the normal wires. ok, one problem: there is only one data pin (#13) on the 13 pin connection. Are these pins 6,8,and 12?

Default Nah... 6, 8, and 12 are always open, nothing connected.

Sorry, I forgot that I didnt have a simple picture of the CDC plug before my conversion.

Before my CANbus conversion

Pin 9 = Clock (CH CLK)
Pin 11 = Data In (CH DATA)
Pin 13 = Data out (R DATA)

Check page 35 of the pdf for the wiring diagram. The big box on the bottom (R41) is the changer, and the pin numbers are labeled on the diagram as well as the description. You won't have or need any CANbus wiring for a phatbox or CD changer.

Default Ok, so I finished my design....

I finished my design only I can't find the 26 pin D-Sub connection or the 13 pin CDC connection. Anyone know where to get them? digikey doesn't. I ordered my phatbox yesterday and it is supposed to come with the adapter. I really don't want to cut into the cable but if I can't find the connections I need, I guess I will have to.

Yeah I found them at buxcomm. The price is good especially with the wire connection. I think I am going to go with digikey cause they have the 26 pin connection for the phatbox. If I buy $25 dollars worth I won't get charged for handling. I am sure I can find someone on this board who still wants one of these. Hint! Hint!

Well, I got my Phatbox finally. It took like 3 weeks to get it. Anyway, I guess I didn't do enough research because the 26 pin D-Sub is wrong. It's a 26 pin CDC (centronics) connection. I should have seen that in the previous posts. If I can find these I shouldn't have a problem making this. I will hopefully get it done this week.
